The Valley of Desolation is the product of volcanic and erosive forces of nature over 100 million years.The columns of Dolerite rise 120 meters from the valley floor.

This is very good. I had no idea what a dolerite was till I looked it up. We call it diabase here in North America. It is the equivalent to volcanic basalt or plutonic gabbro for those who were interested.
