Carly... From the same shoot as Holly...
Canon EOS 7D

How were you lighting this?

Not quite the way I had intended to. I didn't get the room I had wanted and the room I got was a little more crowded. But with that said it was a White Lightning in a softbox camera right and slightly higher and then a canon 580 ex turned way down low firing through a fong lightsphere camera left.

While these shots are good, are you intentionally softening them? The all appear too soft to my liking to be quite honest.

Buy a reflector, try to use the window's natural light. the fong light-spheres aren't intended to be used that way.

I appreciate the comments, but there isn't a lot of window light in Seattle this time of year, especially at 11pm... Sort of a last minute shoot and not a lot to work with... I didn't do any overall sharpening but did use the Portraiture plug-in for some skin smoothing (and this one took quite a bit)....

Nice. Well there are 2 things I see right away when looking at the shot.

Hairband on the wrist (it's something we all forget until it ruins a shot)
Lamp shade is crooked.

It's the little things that draw peoples attention away in pictures

Otherwise I like it :)

Thanks Steve, Good observations, I hadn't even noticed the hairband until you mentioned it... But I did notice the lampshade after I was back at my desk and decided not to invest the time to try and remove it. I guess some creative cropping might be a better approach to at least minimize it..
