What a lovely creature. And you do the best critter portraits around.

Predators seem to get more than their share of good looks. The eye looks very raptor-like too.

LOL! If you could only seen me getting this photo... I was laying flat on the ground sprawled out, talking to this lizard, and trying to convince him not to sprint off before I got his portrait!

He's a wild juvenile Sonoran spiney tailed iguana. They are herbivores and when young are bright green. As they age into adults they turn are gray.

Thanks...he's smaller than I would have expected an iguana to be. How big will he get when mature--given what you've said about their coloring, I suspect this one is a "teenager" as you can still see a bit of green.

Adults are about 2ft and look quite prehistoric. Smallest youngsters I have see are around 3"!
