Both are excellent images. The original stands on it's own anywhere, the shopped one creates a stronger mood and places more emphasis on the log, in flow with the water.

I like them both very much. As was said, they both stand on their own. It's always fun to see how an image can change with PS or some other editing program and still be a great image by itself.
